Job Description

Function:

To sell the goods and services of PTC Alliance by communicating directly with the customer and responding to inquiries, status checks and all customer related requirements in a timely manner occurring in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow the direction of Pricing Manager to populate quotes.  Quote tubing inquiries, feasibility requirements, value-add prints, product development, contract packages and initiate follow-up calls on pertinent inquiries.
  • Handle incoming “cold calls” from potential new customers.  Build and monitor new account/product through initial phases and transition account to suitable Customer Service Representative.
  • Make, track and quantify outbound calls to current and target customers to promote and sell one-stop shopping and promote our other product lines.
  • Manage/Coordinate social media marketing channel(s), develop leads, and new business opportunities.
  • Sell and service new and existing customers.  Responsible for maintaining contract accounts and keeping accurate records of contract pricing and accounts activities.  Maintain status and activity reports.
  • Responsible for providing accurate order entry and change order information to Sales Support person.
  • Communicate with Sales Management and Outside Sales pertaining to feedback on market information, competitive pricing, delivery performance, and any other relevant information.
  • Responsible for all aspects of customer information in the computer system.
  • Provide technical assistance to customer requirements and offer solutions based on customer input and mill capability and support.
  • Responsible for expediting critical sales orders by communicating with specified mill contacts.  Offer overage/shortage requests to customers and clear freight terms and conditions.
  • Continually improve with training on product knowledge and processes.
  • Make periodic sales calls with Outside Sales rep, technical reps, and/or management personnel to further strengthen Sales relationships.
  • Greet and entertain customers during mill visits.  Help to prepare and maintain hospitality rooms for customer training seminars, audits, recreational visits, etc.
  • Perform job duties in a courteous and business-like manner with both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.  Keep records and files organized and up-to-date.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required by Sales management.

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, and Marketing or related field; 0 to 3 years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.  Metallurgy background helpful.

  • Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
  • Computer Skills:  Must be computer literate and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.  Must be able to learn and use various company software including a strong involvement in new systems.
  • Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Must possess a valid driver’s license for business travel.
