Job Description

Function:  

Evaluates manufacturing processes to determine strategies and programs, which provide greater productivity and efficiency of company functions by performing the following duties. Investigates, and determines solutions to optimize manufacturing processes, coordinates testing, installation, and maintenance of mechanical components, equipment, and systems following accepted professional principles or established practices. Other duties may be assigned:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key liaison between Plant Manager & Maintenance/Manufacturing Engineering depts.
  • Critical to plant's capital expenditures, maintenance expenditures, production equipment, etc
  • Coaches/develops engineering/maintenance staff to ensure reliability
  • Operational leadership of projects using maintenance & manufacturing engineers
  • Oversees preventative/predictive maintenance programs reducing downtime
  • 5S compliance
  • Oversees departmental budgets
  • Focus on operational improvements
  • Ensures product quality

Education/Training: Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college or university; Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. Previous Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt experience preferred. Lean Manufacturing training.

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Must possess a valid driver’s license for business travel, such as customer visits, to attend required meetings, seminars, etc.
  • Other Skills and Abilities:  Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, established programs, etc.
