Job Description


The successful candidate will be accountable for the sale of steel tubing products in the sales regions encompassing the Mid -West.  This individual will be responsible for increasing sales, improving profit margins, and improving the company's market share in the territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed all sales goals and objectives.

Promote the unique value propositions offered by the company to meet customer criteria.

Build and manage customer relationships and seek new business opportunities through engagement.

Facilitate the managing responses on quality and delivery issues.

Develop and implement long and short-term sales strategies in line with corporate strategies.

Understand what the customer is ordering and why.  Understand the supply chain where we are able to participate as a valuable partner.

Monitor critical market information and apply to our and the customer’s business.

Maintain the highest level of ethical standards

Perform other job-related duties as required by Sales management.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field; 3 to 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.  Technical background in the metals industry is a plus.

  • Communication Skills:  Ability to communicate and work well with people, both internally and externally is essential.  Must possess the ability to solve problems independently when necessary.
  • Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills:  Reasonable business acumen to have the ability to build and manage pricing.  Understand and manage various pricing mechanisms.  Understand how gross on material differs from gross margin.
  • Computer Skills:  Must be computer literate and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.  Must be able to learn and use various company software.
  • Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
